Ignition Repair

Broken Key Extraction

Keys snap in ignitions and door locks more often in Arlington than in many other neighborhoods because of the age of the vehicle fleet here. A key that has been turning in the same ignition for 8 to 12 years develops micro fractures in the metal. One day, under a little extra pressure, it breaks.

Do not try to pull the broken piece out with pliers, tweezers, or a screwdriver. DIY extraction almost always pushes the fragment deeper and can damage the lock pins inside the cylinder. Call us. We extract the broken piece with specialized tools without damaging the lock, then cut a fresh key from the original code.

Car Key Duplication
